Why I’m not Running the Long Beach Marathon

Two weeks ago, I got an email about an opportunity that really shocked me. At first, I was SO excited I could barely contain myself. As soon as I checked my planner though, my heart dropped. The marathon I was training for was the same exact weekend. My decision was still pretty easy though… I just can’t pass up going to the Ironman Championships in KONA, Hawaii as a Timex Ambassador!

I have already rearranged my schedule to keep training for the Santa Clarita Marathon and in just a few short weeks I am going to be traveling to Kona to partake in an entire behind the scenes experience of the Ironman Championships and watch the event. I still am so surprised to be picked for this experience and I can’t believe it. I’m so honored to even be chosen for this and can’t wait to share everything that I get to see and do while I’m there. I bet they even have awesome coconut donuts for me to eat after a long run!

I have a few really cool giveaways coming up too including different Timex GPS watches and one really fun giveaway for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

ironman-kona-championship-timex ironman-kona-timex-finish-lineI’ll be posting on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and on my blog as well. And, yesterday I found out that I’m going to be sharing a room with Dorothy {Follow her on Instagram, Twitter and check out her blog too}!  I have never met her and I’m excited to hang out, run together, though she’s WAY, WAY faster than me, and spend the week together. And make sure you follow Timex too!

We will be using hashtag #imarunner

Timex is on:

Even though I am pretty bummed about missing Long Beach, because I wanted to make my 10th marathon a special one and Long Beach is the course that I have had the best time on, I know Kona will be amazing and I am going to still be moving forward in training for both Santa Clarita and the Tuscon Marathon.

I’m still pinching myself!
