So I haven’t done one of these in FOREVER, but I thought it would be fun and The Paper Pod tagged me, so hey, I’ll play along :) I tagged another random 11 at the bottom, and it’s up to you if you wanted to do the post of course! Enjoy the 11 random facts about me.

The Random Eleven

The Rules:

Post these rules

You must post 11 random things about yourself

Answer the questions set for you in their post

Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer

Go to their blog and tell them you’ve tagged them

No stuff in the tagging section about you are tagged if you are reading this. You legitimately have to tag 11 people!

11 Random Facts About Me:

I sing a lot! I sing to George all the time. I sing what I’m doing, what I’m going to do next, what I’m cooking, what I’m watching on TV, what I’m eating, but I don’t sing songs. Just things I’m doing or thinking. B doesn’t like my singing and thinks it’s weird, unlike Shea who sang with me.

When at work, I get coffee every morning by walking across the street to 7-11 and there I create a mix of half french vanilla out of the little espresso machine, half regular exclusive blend coffee, two french vanilla creamers and a straw to drink it from.

I am obsessed with dinosaurs and watching the planes take off and land. I would sit on a run way for 8 hours if i could, unfortunately, I cannot find anywhere to look at live dinosaurs all day. Pretty sure airport security would have an issue with me as well…

I could listen to Maroon 5 all day long. I seem to love every single on of their songs. Every time they come on my Pandora, I go to the window to see who sings it and sure enough, Maroon 5.

I cannot handle many spicy things at all. If I eat something spicy, my nose starts to sweat. Only my nose and it gets wet like a dog! So weird. When I eat spicy food, B always asks me if I have a puppy nose.

One of my biggest regrets growing up is quitting softball in the 8th grade. I was playing all the time, was on so many all star teams and looking back, I know I could have landed a huge college scholarship for softball. It makes me wonder sometimes. The reason I quit is because one of my teammates dad was the coach and he told me I was terrible and should give up. So I did and played soccer. I still have no idea how that conspired.

I don’t know my left from my right and I am absolutely terrible at directions. This drives B INSANE.

I cannot wear heels for more than 2 hours. It’s a big time struggle when I try to dress up. The best part is though, when I get dressed up I’m usually going to dinner, so therefore I just remind myself that I’ll be sitting down. I have NO clue how people wear them every day all day long.

I am completely obsessed with stationary. I love buying and sending cards. I love paper products. I love post its and calendars. I am constantly buying cute little cards that I find.

99% of my wardrobe is purchased from Forever 21. Everything but my jeans, which I have three pairs that were not purchased from there. I remember before I was 21, how cool it would be to shop at Forever 21, when I was 21. Now that I’m 26, I wonder when I will stop shopping there. All my workout clothes are from Marshalls, T.J Maxx and Ross.

I always wait to brush my teeth until I am all ready to leave in the morning. It’s the very last thing I do before leaving the house.

11 Questions from The Paper Pod:

So this race went much better than I had initially planned. I had a pretty rough race the other weekend at the 13.1. I just wasn’t clicking and I felt like a Clydesdale out there. I went to bed early on Saturday after having a light dinner to try to make sure my stomach would be invincible on race morning. I parking in my secret Surf City parking spot, and for the fourth year in a row, it worked out magically. Warm parking garage, no one around, about .25 miles from the start… Doesn’t get much better. I was on the fence about wearing my Team Sparkle skirt, but in the end opted for wearing it again. It is not that I didn’t like the skirt, it’s just that I had a bad experience in the last race when I wore the skirt.

The weather was nice, it did get a little warm, but it was nice. I met up with Billy and we walked to the start line together. I was a little nervous that I needed to use the portapottie, but I did not allow enough time and thought I would be fine. I was still pretty sore from the Friday morning workout with Shea, but knew I would be using different muscles than those so I kept reminding myself that I would be fine. Billy and I said our goodbyes when I left him in the front corrals and I traveled into the back of the corrals. Not too far back, I should have gone back farther but oh well.

I never noticed the guy in the background of this picture is actually making like a funny face. Anyways, the race started and it was pretty uneventful. The first few miles ticked by and I kept telling myself to Relax. Relax. Relax Danica. Relax. Yes, I talk to myself while I run. Relax. Mile three came around and things were clicking. I had passed one section of bathrooms, and thought about going. I passed another one and took a quick break and went really fast. I’m glad I did because I drank a lot of water before the race. I had good music, my legs felt good and I checked down at my garmin and I was going somewhat fast. I figured I would try to keep running hard for as long as I could. I ran hard up the first uphill and took some sharkies at mile 5. I haven’t eaten on a run in a long time, and I tried to hydrate as well and drank a little cup of water at every other water station.

Mile 6, mile 7, I kept telling myself to relax. I started to do math in my head, which is a TERRIBLE idea since I’m absolutely horrible at math and realized if I worked hard I would be able to come in sub 2 hours. I knew most of my miles were under 9 minute miles and I was trying hard to keep that pace. Mile 8 and Mile 9 were good and right at mile 10 there were two small slight uphills. I don’t know why, perhaps it’s the fact that I never run any hills, but they really were tough for me and I could totally feel it in my quads. Finally I reached the peak of the hill and knew it was only a few miles left and I really had to push to get to the finish. I kept reminding myself the race was almost over and that I just needed to relax. Pull it together and just relax. At mile 10 I knew it was in reach and I just had to work the last 3 miles. Mile 11 came and I was getting tired. The bottom of my feet hurt and my hip was hurting a lot. FINALLY mile 12. This mile you are pretty much surrounded by spectators leading to the finish. The finish chute was much smaller than I remembered in the past. It seemed like the spectators gathered closer to the runners this year.

Mile 12 was where I really pushed hard. I was hurting but I knew it would be about another 8 minutes and I would be done. I just focused on the finish and being done! I finished right where I expected to be, and boy was I happy to have the 1 back in front of my finishing time. Be gone 2 something something!

I checked my official time later and I actually came in at 1:58:58. I totally could tell that in the middle I picked up the pace a lot and that’s where I was feeling good and things were clicking.

I was so glad that this race went much better than the race that kicked off 2012. I still was quite a ways off the PR, but I will take a sub two any day of the week. After the race I did feel pretty terrible. My stomach was pretty upset with me and I have been having terrible hip pain but I have been stretching and trying to ice it. It seems to be that it just needs to be popped. So strange.

Alas, a good race, and now I have happy feelings towards my Team Sparkle Skirt. :)

It was a lovely day and a good race experience as well! Hooray for not totally dying out there and running hard.

xoxo

One year ago today, I got quite the shock and B asked me to marry him! I remember we had literally had a conversation the week before about getting engaged. I am such a planning freak and I wanted to make sure we were both on the same page. After that conversation, I was under the impression that we were going to wait another year, and just enjoy dating for longer. I was so happy and relieved after that conversation and felt such a peace about everything that I was stressing out over.

We talked often of getting married, but wanted to wait a while, or I guess he convinced me that waiting a while would be a good idea. It’s weird, once we started dating, I had that oh so cliche feeling of knowing he’s the one that I would one day get married to. Everything with him is easy. Even when I get so angry, he still does weird stuff to make me laugh, which makes me even more mad that I can’t be mad at him! But in the end, he is such an encouragement to me, he loves me even though I do so many weird things and he makes me the happiest girl in the world.

A year ago, after I got done tutoring, he tried to drag me to El Torito and I didn’t want to go. We stopped at his house to drop something off for his passport, which I didn’t know WHY HE HAD TO DO IT BEFORE DINNER because I was starving. He took FOREVER getting out of the car and I almost flipped out as he was wasting so much time, for no apparent reason. Little did I know that since November of 2010, he was working on getting my ring custom made. Little did I know that on February 2nd he had lunch with my brother to ask him if he could marry me, and I had NO IDEA that he got the completed ring on February 2, 2011, at 3:00 pm, and then, after taking what seemed like years to get out of the car at his house, he walked up behind me, got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. The night was a whirlwind after that but I have never felt so much joy and love in my heart, ever. I think Shea was just as shocked as I was, I called her like 200 times that night and FINALLY she called me back after I left the weirdest message on her phone. It was so much fun to share all the excitement with all our family and friends.

Nothing makes me smile more than thinking about us. He makes me happy. What a difference a year has made… We are married, have a house and a little doggie. It’s a weird way to explain it, but things are just nice. They just flow.

No one EVER has surprised me like that in my life. Hip Hip Hooray for Engagement day!

xoxo

So month one of 2012 is in the past, and now it’s onto February. The month where I struggle with spelling it’s name wrong the ENTIRE month. Thank goodness for spell check. This is also a month where we celebrate love. I like to celebrate love all the time but I like to get into the hearts and happiness and share my love with some of my favorite people. One being my best friend, Shea.

We are celebrating the month of love by getting out hearts pumping and the blood flowing. That creative little one over at No So Cli-Shea made this little banner to celebrate our month of heart pumping fitness and I’m jumping on the bandwagon, stealing her banner and posting about what we do all month to make a difference in our bodies.

You see, we talk a lot about our bodies, and we both know we can do a lot better working out. It’s easy to complain, but what’s hard is making a choice to make a difference. What is more fun than working out together? Obviously pretty much nothing so we got up super early this morning and headed to the park to do a 45 minute workout that included day one of Fab Abs as well…

So we are both committed to working out together on Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings, and doing the Fab Ab workout those days as well as the days that we are not working out together. I’ll still be running on Tuesday and Thursday and doing my long run on the weekends. Also, with weather SO lovely lately, I might just head out for evening runs as well.

I also have excellent news to share about tracking my food that since I started keeping track of all the food I’ve been eating, I’ve lost 6 pounds. The app (My Net Diary) I’m using really helps me make wise decisions about my food and doesn’t just count calories, which to me, I could have eaten my calories in a burger and fries that day, but obviously that is not a good choice. It reminds me to eat fiber in the morning, and tells me when I had to much sodium and all that stuff, that is easy to overlook, at least for me.

Shea and I even took HORRIFYING before pictures this morning, so we can work to keep each other accountable. We were talking this morning about how summer always comes around and we then try to make a change, but it’s already too late, and with February upon us, we can start now, to see a difference.

What are you going to do to make your Fat to Fit February? As we all know, changes don’t come over night, but making a concious effort in food choices and exercise will make all the difference come June!

Here’s our workout from this morning (12 reps/3 times)

Crunches (12 forward, 12 on each side)

Mountain climbers

Plank (20 seconds)

Push ups

Pelvic Thrusts

Jump rope (30 jumps, 40 jumps, ending on 50 jumps) while I jumped rope, Shea did Jumping Jacks. We did 25 Jumping Jacks each time and then switched

And the most dreaded leg throw downs – 10 normal and then 5 on each side. Those BURN and I hate them, but we got them done

Leg Scissors (which we did 30 scissors)

I’m really starting to actually see a difference when I track my food, and guess what, DUH, I feel better about myself and my body. Shocking, I know. I’m not starving myself, I’m not working out 20 hours a week. I’m not depriving myself. I’m making wise decisions, working out different parts of my body than normally and splurging when I know I deserve it. (not every day like I used to with the tootsie rolls! GAH!)

It takes a commitment, but we are both committed and will be checking in on our progress throughout the month. I’m excited to have a workout buddy to do these exercises with, and being sore together means we are sharing the pain!

I get a few emails about how I curl my hair. I made a video about how I do it every morning when I curl or ‘bend’ my hair when I actually take the time to do it. It highlights that I do many weird things and make many weird noises. I find that it comes out the best when I do it like I show in the video because the way I used to curl it when it was long makes me look like Shirley Temple!

When I first blow dry my hair… it looks like this

I also talk about a product and I’ve been told I call it by the wrong name, who knew… but here is a link to the product, Aquage and I also reference another blog that I love going to for hair stuff and she made a video on how to put the Aquage in your hair, which is super helpful. You can find her super cute blog here, and here’s the video on how to apply Aquage. I usually put nothing in my hair, so when I use this I really see a difference and it works great to keep it so well!

Overall, it’s pretty easy, but I do have a ton of hair, so that makes it much larger than normal hair. I do find that the bend always works better on the left side too, the right side plagues me with weird stuff going on. Alas, hopefully you enjoyed the video. Sorry it’s SO long. :/

This weekend I worked the Tinkerbell Half Marathon Expo, which was quite fun. I saw and met many people. Good stuff. Working expos isn’t that bad but it’s just long hours. But meeting people and talking to people is always fun.

So that was Friday and Saturday, all day long.

Thanks to Angry Julie for this awesome picture

Sunday, I wanted to try to redeem my running spirit and went out for a run. I knew I wanted to get at least 6 miles in but didn’t know how my body would hold up after being on my feet at the Expo. I finished with 10 and a smile on my face, which hasn’t happened in quite some time. Thankfully my body did great and I am not to sore except for my hip today, which has been happening on longer runs lately. I did run faster than normal and did actually enjoy the run for the first time in a while. I felt strong and happy. It was a lovely day, the sun was shining and I ran in a tank top!

I had a conversation with Tara last night about training and the upcoming Arkie Marathon. We both have seemingly been struggling with running it seems and though we both are committed to running the Full Marathon in Arkie, we both are not having a grand training sesh this time around. We both have been not having a problem running around 10 miles to 13 miles, and then the other miles just seem to intimidate us and we are both not even attempting to increase our mileage right now. So therefore we had a brilliant idea of running the first 13.1 miles, and then trading off from running and walking. I think it’s the “Galloway” method. So from miles 13 – the end of the race, we are going to walk a minute and run five minutes. We are both excited to run the race, spend time together and just hang out. What better way to spend time together, than suffering through a marathon together?

We discussed how we were both okay with this idea, and both are still committed to the full. Therefore that switches up my training a bit with keeping pretty consistent to running a long run (10-13 miles) on the weekend, and shorter runs during the week. We also talked about how we will have fun running the last half, and enjoy all Arkansas has to offer along the route! I mean, how many times will I ever be in Arkansas?

Also, this weekend, B’s brother left for New York! He was offered a job there and he moved away. It all happened so fast and it was so exciting and we had a little going away dinner with him this weekend.

So tonight it’s back to the gym for me. I have dilligently been tracking my food via the app that I found and am seeing some results. I know it takes time and the fact that small results are showing up is helpful in the motivation category. I also just feel better, so that’s good!

xoxo

So this is not related to running, but something that B recently created and I love it! And since today is a rest day, I thought I would share it with everyone. I showed him the idea of a Pallet Board Flag and then he was pretty excited about it and wanted to make one for the house. The inspiration ideas are here here and here

He started off collecting some Pallets and then took them apart and nailed some of the wood pieces from the front of the pallet and placed them on the ‘frame’ he constructed. He nailed them all down to the frame and even made one that was a little broken to make it look a little more ‘ragged’, like an actual flag. The boards he selected were all selected very specifically. He took apart three pallets to collect these few pieces.

Then he caculated what he needed to do to make the stripes and stars and how many he could fit on there. He penciled them all on the wood and then started painting. The hardest part, according to him, was painting the edges of all the stars. He is very good at calculating all these things, and made sure that everything he drew on there was straight and looked good. I don’t have patience like he does.

He finished painting it yesterday and I love the way it came out! He did such a good job with it.

We are going to hang it in our bedroom above our dresser, once we get our bedroom furniture set, which is hopefully in the near future. He has to add a few things to the back of the flag to hang it from, because it’s pretty heavy to have on the wall. I know if I really wanted to create this, I could have done it, so I know it’s a good project if anyone wants to try it. I will have to share a picture of our room, once it’s completed in a few months and the flag is hung! I love it, and it matches our mirror and pretty much entire home decor so well.

So running has made me feel like this lately

A big fat MEH. I’ve REALLY struggled on my last few runs. I don’t know why. I just can’t get it to click, and if it does click, it’s the last mile, so I can’t decide if that is only happening because of my complete joy that my run is over. Most of the struggles have happened over long runs. Those 3-5 miles though, I’m doing much better on. Able to keep a much more consistent pace and not completely hating my time out there.

Anything over 5 though? I basically HATE it. I don’t get it. I know Arkie keeps getting closer with each passing day. I need to get through that, and this ‘training’ and then it’s onto different things. I look forward to changing it up. Lately I have been loving the gym, biking and I’m thinking a little baby tri is in my future. When I say baby tri, I mean short, short distance. Right now, long runs are really putting a damper on my running style and overall love for running, and I have come to the realization that I want to get faster, in shorter distances, like how I used to run. I love running short distances, and I love running fast.

I need to keep my head up and remember that even though my runs are not great… I’m still getting them done. I’m actually pretty proud of myself and the training I’ve been doing lately, even with the mehtastic feeling I am having towards running. It might not be fun or pretty, but it’s still happening and I’m not giving up.

So for now, I will contemplate buying this pillow…

It is what it is. Arkie is approaching. After Arkie new and exciting, different things are in my future. I’m struggling with running but it is what it is, and hopefully some good runs are on the horizon!

xoxo

This race already happened a week ago and I haven’t had the chance to post the recap. I got the entry off my friend Billy’s blog and his contest to win an entry. I honestly trained very poorly for this race. I should have been running more, but alas, I wasn’t and the only person to blame was myself. Oh well, I was still excited to get out there and run, with a medal at the end of the race waiting for me.

That morning I saw Billy and we tucked ourselves in the 2:00 group. The start line was small and I didn’t realize how small the race was. We took off and it was a pretty morning, the weather was nice and cool and Billy left me right around the 1.5 mile mark. I was cruising along quite slow and glad he left me. I didn’t want to keep him down with my slow pace.

This was actually the first race that B came to, longer than a 5k! Miles kept ticking by and I just was bored. I don’t know why but I felt like I was running so slow and I was just tired. Meh. I guess that is what not training does for you. Around half way, I saw B on the beach path and was super excited to see him! He snapped this picture of me running. :) I did have to go to the bathroom basically the entire race, but I held it becuase there were lines at every single one of the portapotties at each aid station.

Notice what a pretty morning it was! I LOVE airplanes and watching them fly, so it was a pretty fun course that ran right around LAX, which is chock full of airplanes taking off all morning. It was heaven watching them all go off and to hear them flying around. I loved that part for sure! I wore my Team RWB shirt and also my Team Sparkle Skirt and Race Legs! Loved the outfit :) I will be doing a Team Sparkle review this week as well :)

I did, for some reason, notice that there weren’t a lot of water stations, but it might just be me and running larger races and how I am used to water stations every mile. Meh, maybe I was just thirsty. Maybe I just wanted to drown my sorrows? Who knows.

The views were great. The course was a tad hilly and the hills came later in the race, when I was already cursing myself for not training. And when I say hilly, it’s mostly just up overpasses. I would say about 2-3 maybe 4 small baby hills. I probably am being a baby about it, but alas, my lack of training was pretty much making me hate life. I just couldn’t find the groove. So I walked, enjoyed the planes and even saw a ton of dolphins out swimming. Good times. I tried to point it out to another runner, and she seemed much less enthused about said dolphins.

Around mile 10 I basically wanted to give up. For some reason I just wasn’t mentally there. I couldn’t pull it out to keep running. I ran walked… and finally finished. It wasn’t my best or worst time but the fact that I couldn’t get my mind right was just odd to me, and bothered me. Oh well, the race is done and I got in 13 miles. I met up with a co-worker and B who were waiting for me at the finish line.

We went to the Tripel after, a great burger joint in Playa Vista. They were serving brunch and we partook in some of their awesome food. We had a golden monkey beer to celebrate.

YAY for B’s first race. Though it was not by any means a stellar performance on my part, but seeing two of my favorite people at the finish line made up for it! The big shiny medal was pretty cool too :)

The medal was really heavy and I like it a lot! It has a little spinny thing in it that says 13.1, which is pretty cool. At the finish line, I guess I missed the signs that said there was a festival area, because I just walked away and didn’t see anything. I guess it was around the corner and at a park? I don’t know how I missed this but alas, this was waiting for me at the Tripel… YUM

I ate half of it and it was awesome and everything I wanted after that race. It was a good race and a fun way to kick of the ‘racing’ season of 2012! Glad I got to run the event and score that awesome medal. I am disappointed with my time (2:15ish I think?) but alas, that’s what you get when you don’t put a lot into training. I attempted to run 16 miles last weekend and was squashed at 10 miles. My legs were just thrashed the entire run and I was so uncomfortable. I figured taking a week off of the long run would be okay and finished with 10. Shockingly enough, I feel so fresh now so I’m going to attempt the long run again this weekend. I have really been struggling with running lately. So many mediocre runs that I think Arkie will be my last full for some time. I truly am starting to get the itch to run faster, shorter distances, which I haven’t done in quite some time. We shall see after Arkie and how that goes!

xoxo

One of the main questions I got was HOW! How did you get on the show? Here’s how it happened.

We got engaged on February 2nd of 2011. My maid of honor, Shea, nominated us for the show, without me knowing the following day by going on wetv.com and sending in the audition information. They were casting at that time. Her and I were contacted two weeks later with a response that said if we were interested in being on the show, B and I needed to send in a no longer than 10 minute audition tape including all our wedding plans we had thus far, a ‘table’ of my stuff, just like you saw on our episode, what we were struggling with during planning, etc. We also had to fill out an application which was about 10 pages long about both of us.

I sent that in the first week of March and literally thought nothing of it ever again. I never heard anything back, and we went on planning our wedding, looked at venues, spoke with catering companies, started crafting, booking things, etc. Had our engagement party in April. The first weekend of June, I got a call saying that we were picked to be on the show. I hadn’t heard from them for over three months. Things were a whirlwind after that. So, basically, it was all thanks to Shea, a million times over.

Heide asked “I would love more Deets on David… he seems fantastic and wondering how much you really got to interact with him!”

David is literally one of the nicest people I have ever met. He truly is that wonderful and fantastic and he is completely like the guy you see on TV. We taped three days for about 12 hours each day before the wedding and then of course, the wedding day which was about 18 hours of taping. You are with him all the time and you get to hang out and everything. The crew also exists for the show and I would say there are about 15 people with you at all times. On the wedding day there was a crew of about 30 people. That’s a LOT of people around you all the time, but it is fun. David is hilarious, kind and amazing. Same with the crew. Great people, so blessed throughout the entire experience, and you do forget the cameras are there… not all the time, but sometimes.

Laura asked “Was there anything that you didn’t like that happened? Or any choices David made that you would’ve changed?”

Hmmm, honestly, there was nothing that I didn’t like. I loved everything. I guess the biggest thing I was fearful of during the process was him changing it to something else that wasn’t what we wanted, but I believed him when he told me that he liked our stuff. The only thing that kind of bummed me out was that the bridesmaids weren’t standing up on the steps at the church, but it wasn’t a big deal and I think just because I didn’t know about it it magnified that they weren’t standing up there.

When he showed us the reception, and I saw how similar it was to the original vision I had, it was so overwhelming and a great feeling. The only thing I think I ‘missed’ was since everything was really short notice, to keep the location/venue a surprise, we didn’t get invitations and I’m a paper/stationary FREAK… so I was a little bummed on that, but we did have programs and escort cards which I have in a shadowbox.

Rachel asked, ‘Who is your photograher and how did you find him?‘

Our photographer was one that I looked at all the time, Jonathan Moore. Hands down, I love his work. He LOVES color, and is a sports journalist so he captures a lot of movement. I loved his portfolio and the fact that he captured sports pictures, because I know capturing more than just weddings was pretty legit. He actually showed me a few pictures that he got at the LA Marathon and I immediately was obsessed. Our wedding, I would think, was very hard to capture with us ALWAYS being pulled in many directions with so much going on, but he captured EVERYTHING, and managed to get some amazing shots WITHOUT the cameras, which were everywhere. There were so many moments when I looked up and though, wait! We need Jonathan here, and he’d be creeping in the corner, already two steps ahead of me. Not only is he a great photographer, but he put up with me asking him about a million questions if he got ‘all the pictures I wanted’. I am seriously in love with all our pictures and cannot believe what a gem he is and how lucky we were to get him to capture our special day!

Erin asked, ‘How did you find out how to make the boutonniere?!’

I found it on a website that I looked at frequently when planning our wedding, Green Wedding Shoes! Here’s a link to the one I kind of copied. I didn’t use a feather and I used fabric that I cut out to mimic the feathers. The fabric, was of course, gingham. Then I glued buttons on to them at the bottom and glued a little baby ribbon bow to the bottom as well. I found a heart button and put it on Bs, the rest of the guys just had navy, red and white buttons. It took two days to complete them all, not to bad and I thought it was cool that they could keep them if they wanted. I was so happy when I found out David kept them! I loved them and was pretty proud of them. :) I put Bs in our little shadow box we have of wedding stuff. Just an FYI though, Burlap is the worst fabric/material to work with. It stinks, it falls apart and frays and it’s little hairs get EVERYWHERE! :)

Krista asked, “I’m obsessed with your dress! I’m just curious, do you know what the price tag of it was (gotta know how much I oughta save for a similar one haha) also I know totally nosy question but did David/the show pick up the tab for your entire wedding!? ”

The price tag for my dress, was I think…and don’t quote me on this was 16,000. I didn’t get to keep the dress though, and I think of it all the time. Wearing it was the most amazing experience of my life. By far the most glamourous, beautiful thing I’ve ever laid eyes upon. Here is a great blog about the dress and designer from the store that it is from. Since the wedding day, I literally have thought about going to the store to see if they still have it just to see it again. It was made by Ines Di Santo.

So onto the next question, which I got often! Who pays for this?!

We were informed that we must paid for our photographer (if we wanted one, but we didn’t get any of the ‘shows’ photographers photographs) officiant, and DJ. We still got all our wedding party gifts and paid for our hotels that we stayed at as well. One thing that was the hardest decision when going on the show was the fact that we already had our wedding planned… and so all those deposits for catering, decorations, floral, venues, you don’t get back or reimbursed for. But the show did pay for a lot, obviously, but you give up ALL your control, over everything AND you know nothing.

Danielle asked many questions! :)

I may or may not have missed this from your blog or the show… but what was your something borrowed, something blue, something old, something new??

My somthing borrowed was the dress, I had a blue rose on my garter, My shoes were new and the something old was, according to Shea, ME! haha I actually didn’t have one specific ‘something old’

Any advice for other brides? Is there one thing you learned or wish you had known?

Honestly, relax and enjoy it. I had pretty much absolutly no idea what was going on at my wedding. I had no idea how it would turn out, if David would keep it similar to what I planned, or how I would react to anything, but guess what, I got to marry Bryan and that’s all that mattered. I think it’s easy to be caught up in the wedding part of an engagement. The big party, what people think about your wedding, how the wedding will turn out, will people have fun, and people forget that YOU ARE COMMITTING YOUR LIFE TO SOMEONE FOREVER. That is crazy. Celebrate love and don’t get lost in the little details. Make the little details count, but don’t let them overwhelm you, and don’t be crazy.

Your brother wasn’t really on camera, did he choose not to be?

That’s just how it was edited. He was there for everything on our wedding day.

Did you like the edit of the show? Were there things you wish they had shown or vice versa?

I actually loved the outcome of the show. With probably over 30 hours of us on film that they had to condensed into an hour, I’m so happy with how it came out. I didn’t get to see the show before it aired live or anything that was filmed that they had to use for our episode and I was nervous how I would look. It’s scary. I honestly don’t remember crying that much, but I guess that I did! They captured all the right moments that I wanted to remember and it was so special to see it on tv!

Does David take care of ALL of the planning? Are there things that you were in charge of planning? I know you have mentioned you picked your photographer, and I’m guessing your music too as you mentioned today. Or did he just keep those things since you already had them planned?

It truly is all ‘surprises’. I didn’t know if they were going to keep the boutonnieres until I saw it on Bryan that day at the alter! I had no idea what they would ‘keep’ and ‘change’. I had to give them everything from my table the day they came to our house to film, so they would be able to look at it and reference it, if they wanted too. Literally, I knew nothing. The things we had to decide was if we wanted our own photographer, and who it would be. We needed a DJ, and we got to pick our own music. We had to turn everything over to them though, and give them spreadsheets of all our music and ceremony timeline. They kept our ceremony exactly as I had it laid out, because that was our choice as well and they wouldn’t do anything to change our actual vows.

Kathy asked, “Even though your red dress is gorgeous, I’m wondering if you were a little sad to take off your wedding gown? I was sad to take mine off, and I wore it the whole time!”

I was but I was also excited to put on the red dress… but it’s weird, I still think about the bridal gown and miss it like a friend! haha, I’m weird, I know.

Eleanor asked, “I’m a bit of a make-up nerd and was wondering if you remember any of the products the makeup artist used on you for your wedding?”

My makeup was airbrushed and I was wearing fake lashes. I don’t know any of the makeup she used, there was a LOT of it. She used multiple colors for my eyes and cheeks and I know that it didn’t look that glittery in real life, but it really showed up a lot on TV! These are the makeup artists that did my bridesmaids and I.

Here are some other random questions from a few different people:

Was it hard having to contact all of your guests in such a short time frame?

Actually, the show contacted them all, via email and phone with specific instructions to the wedding and what they needed from each guest. Everyone had to sign waivers and fax them back pretty much the day they were contacted about wedding information. They were contacted on Thursday morning with the details of the wedding… and we got married that following Saturday! I did contact all our invited guests earlier in the month to inform them of our wedding and they would learn more as the date got much closer. Unfortunately, I had no information for them, but the date we were to get married on!

Where did you find your bridesmaid dresses?

Shea found them at Nordstrom while perusing the sale rack. They are by Maggie London.

How did you choose to paint your nails red for your wedding day?

Funny you should ask, I actually asked David two days before the wedding what color I should paint my nails. He looked at my like I was out of my mind that I would even ask that question and replied RED! I am glad I did. :)

Did being on the show limit you in anyway?

We had to cut down our guest list to 130. Some of our guests didn’t understand that we didn’t even know where we were getting married… So that was a little hard to explain at times. :)

Where did most of your outfits come from when you were on Camera?

The first one, the blue silk tank and grey and white striped sweater were both from forever 21. The yellow shirt was from forever 21 and the skinny jeans were from forever 21. The pie outfit, white and blue tank with blue short sleeve jacket, all from forever 21. The dress fitting outfit, denim skirt was from the gap and the green cardigan was from target. They were all pretty old though, so I doubt any of them are online anymore. I did get another question about the anchor earrings, which were also from forever 21.

Where were B and the groomsmans ties from?

Another sale item from Nordstrom, from last summer. They are by the brand 1901.

How many days did you tape?

We taped three different times before the wedding and our wedding day. So I had to take off three days of work before the wedding. Luckily, my boss is really cool and let me have it off.

Did you notice anything that you thought was weird about yourself on tv?

YES! So many things. I talk with my hands A LOT, which I never noticed. I already knew I had a man voice, so that wasn’t too shocking. I make so many weird noises and have weird sayings too! Ha, ha, oh well, that’s just the way I am!

Next week it’s back to RUNNING and I’ve got a few reviews coming up too :) YAY for training. I have a 16 miler to do this weekend and still have to recap the 13.1 race I ran last weekend!

Thank you for all the kind comments about our wedding and your patience through all the wedding week pictures. I have waited so long to post them and I’m so glad I finally could!
