Well 2009 is upon us isn’t it. I’m a little late on wishing everyone a happy 2009, but hope everyone had a wonderful new years. I have much to catch you all up on, so some of my upcoming posts may be some stories that have happened over the break, but don’t worry they are funny none the less.
Mr. R and I had a wonderful New Year’s Dinner at a nice restaurant in Newport Beach.
I had a Filet Mignon and it was delicious! Then we went back and hung out at played rock band with a couple that he knows. It was pretty fun. Then the next day USC DOMINATED! I was happy about that and all the football that has been happening lately! The San Diego Charger game the other night was super intense and I am happy they are going on so I have a team to root for. I am also excited for the big game this week because I don’t want Florida to win.
Speaking of things to watch on TV, Biggest Loser starts up again tomorrow and I can’t wait! This season is going to be so good, and I love watching the show because it’s so motivating. Make sure to catch it tomorrow night at 8 pm on NBC.
So with the last pictures I posted, the girls seemed to love them, and I had a few, AHEM, BOYS, who only wanted to see pictures of my new shoes. So here is your eye candy fellas.
The Nike Span +5 Running Shoe in Black and Pink, which I’m obsessed with especially because this morning I realized they matched my running leggings from Target. I know, I’ve left my Pegasus and switched from the Vulmero to these babies. I feel like they offer the same type of cushion as my old pegs but with a little more support in the heel, which is nice. So far I’ve put in a torturous 8.8 miler, and then a great, fast 3.5 miler on them. I like how light they are and look forward to putting in some mileage on them. As I was picking out my shoes, I came to the realization that alas, I’ll be back at the store in three months getting new shoes, so it really doesn’t even matter. Sadly.

These beasts are the Asiscs GEL-Trail Attack 4 WR. To be honest, I was skeptical about the need for different shoes to run trails in and then regular road running. Once I put these on though, my mind was instantly changed. They are light and much different than running shoes and I am looking forward to running some trails in the near future! They are a lot different than shoes I normally pick, but I figured it would be fun to get something different.
The 8.8 miler I got in this weekend was evil! I got to about 6.5 and thought this is NEVER going to end, and it was drizzling which is never good for me. I was not motivated to finish it, but continued to run the whole way and was glad I at least got my miles in. I’m looking forward to the half coming up Feburary 1st. It will be a good race and I run the route for training all the time.
This morning I got up and there was ICE on all the cars I ran past. I know, wild for us southern Californians. I have so much respect for those of you getting out there in super cold temperatures. I put in a quick little three miler, Tomorrow I’ll post a little bit about my 2009 resolutions and am hoping to get some input on what you think of some training plans. Can’t wait to catch up with all of you guys, so if you get a bunch of random comments from me today, just know I’m reading! :) So get ready to be chic in ’09!
xoxo
