Cabo Vacation!

The last 10 days I was away on an amazing and long anticipated vacation to Cabo San Lucas with B! We have been planning this trip since the beginning of the year and it was so awesome, I really enjoyed everything and was able to relax. If you’d like to see more photos you can see them on the post so click below!

We stayed at the Fiesta Americana Grand and did the “All-Inclusive” option. There really wasn’t more that we needed or wanted and the only thing we ended up paying for were the cigars B bought and our massages!

The hotel is really pretty, right on the beach and it’s a swimmable beach, which is pretty rare down there in front of hotels. We found the best snorkeling there as well. There was a great amount of fish right in front, which was really nice. They also have little huts to lay out under, which we did two days.

cabo san lucas 5I was so thankful I bought these watershoes from Walmart for 4 dollars before we went. I didn’t want my feet to get cut up on the rocks in the water and the sand was blazing hot, so it was a good choice.

cabo san lucas 7One of my favorite drinks, the Fiesta Verde, it’s a cucumber margarita! So refreshing and you can’t even taste the tequila – a good or bad thing, depending on how you look at it.

cabo san lucas 6While we were down there, it was also our 3 year anniversary! I can’t believe how fast time has gone and it was a great way to celebrate. cabo san lucas 2People have asked me, what did you guys do? 10 days!? Doesn’t that seem so long? No, it was seriously the perfect amount of time! We had enough time to relax and not stress out about doing things there and ‘fitting it all in’ before we left. It was also nice because B and I don’t see that much of each other with his work schedule so it was nice to know I had solid time with him and we had nothing to do.

cabo san lucas 3The food at the hotel was great! We had our fair share of fish tacos, B’s final tally was 32 for 10 days, and they had a great steak house on the premises that we ate at a few times. We got room service every morning for breakfast which was delicious as well.

cabo san lucas 11Our favorite thing after dinner was sitting around the fire pit for the evening entertainment and a glass of wine or margarita. The weather was pretty warm when we were there (mid 80’s at night, 95-100 during the day) and it was also muggy, but we made the best of it, and blasted the air conditioner in the room.

cabo san lucas 12One day we went out on a sail boat to see the Arch, Lover’s Beach and go Snorkeling in a nearby bay. It was really fun, but I didn’t realize I would get so sick on the boat. The sea was a little rough because of a tropical storm off the coast, but we were still glad we did it and had fun with it. The cool water never felt better when we jumped in once we finally got to the bay.

cabosanlucas10I kept telling B, all I want to do is lay in the sun, read, and go in the ocean. That’s pretty much all we did. The ocean was SO warm too! It was fun to look at all the crabs on the rocks around the area.

cabosanlucas8One day, we went up to this amazing vista with a few people I work with down there. They were showing me some of their newest developments and it was AMAZING. The homes are so nice and the views of the bay are breathtaking.

cabosanlucas1Most of the nights we didn’t get a colorful sunset, which I love, but I got this picture from one of the evenings and it was the best sunset we saw while we were down there. I was glad I snapped a quick picture.

cabogopro6While we were snorkeling, they made us wear life vests because the water was pretty rough, but it was still fun.

cabogopro5B always loved diving with his snorkel on, I always was confused and couldn’t’ dive properly without sucking in water.

cabogopro4Right in front of our hotel! We swam out to the rocks but we couldn’t go much farther than that because the current was so strong it would suck you right out.

cabogopro3 cabogopro2 cabogopro1On the last day before we left we sat in the infinity pool forever. It was the perfect amount of time and so nice to not worry about food or anything while we were away. The last evening before we left, we met up with a few people I work with who were down in the area for work and they took us to dinner at La Osteria in San Juan Del Cabo, and if you’re ever in the area, make SURE to visit! It was SO amazing, one of the best dinners of our lives. It was the perfect ambiance, incredible food, great company and wonderful service. I wish we could go back every week, such a gem.

It was a great time and though I totally planned on running and working out a bit while I was there, I just never got around to it and I don’t regret it one bit. It was really nice to not worry about everything and just enjoy every little bit of the time away. Now we’re back and getting back into the swing of things like doing tons of laundry and I’m looking forward to starting back up on a training plan and running again!
