Olay vs. Dove – Scrub a Dub Dub Test

Recently, I was contacted by Olay to try out their new body wash. It wasn’t just going to be a normal review though. They wanted me to test it against another product that is similar, Dove Body wash. This may seem weird and not really in line with my normal posts, but one thing that I do so very often is shower. Because I run so much, I’m constantly showering. After my morning run, before a meeting, after cross country practice before dinner. I feel like I’m constantly in the shower and my hair is always dirty (but that’s another story).

I also found it interesting that they wanted to me to actually test both products, because it really showed that they believed that Olay was a better product. So normally, I use regular bar soap when I shower. No wonder my skin was so dry and I was starting to resemble a lizard. So the first week I tried out the Dove Deep Moisture that they sent me to test. It worked out better than my Dial bar of soap, but I didn’t notice too much of a difference. I mean, my skin was a bit smoother and I wasn’t flaking everywhere, so I took that as a good sign.

After a week I was told to use my ‘previous soap’, so back to bar soap I went. Honestly, I have no idea why I was using bar soap. I think that it was what we had in the house so I just was going through the 8 pack we had. But, I noticed a huge difference going back to it. My skin was way more dry and I needed to apply lotion after the shower. Then after another week it was time to try the Olay Ultra Moisture. Right off the bat, this smells the best out of the three. It’s a light, fresh, clean scent. The Dove body wash didn’t have any scent what soever, and I do like a clean smell. I used the Olay for a week and my skin perked right back up! It was like it was soaking in the moisture it had been missing. I never realized that soaps can be so different and some can be so drying. Now I’m using up the rest of the Olay because I love the scent, and it is much more moisturizing than any body wash I’ve used before. I find it I don’t even have to put on lotion after the shower anymore, which is great when I’m in a time crunch or showering so many times a day.

Now that I’m using a more moisturizing body wash, I’m seeing a difference in my skin tone too. I didn’t realize that my skin was so dry before, I just thought that’s how my skin was, but now it’s brighter and looks more healthy. I’m actually really grateful for the opportunity to try this new body wash, because now I’m hooked!

Any thoughts about the chemicals that are making your skin softer?

I loved all my body washes but when I couldn’t pronounce all the words I changed my products

I like Olay because of the smell and texture, but I also like dove, so I mix them together and use them both for the extra moisture and the smell.
