I recently was contacted by Rise Bar to try out their different bars. Now, I really am not a huge bar person to be completely honest. A lot of bars are used as meal replacements and it’s just not enough food for me. I also don’t feel like it’s healthy to have just a bar for a meal either. So those feelings aside, I’m always pretty wary of trying bars. A lot of them also are just a ton of calories for what you’re actually getting. When the Rise bars arrived I was apprehensive. The bars seemed to be a much different consistency than I was used to and also very natural, which sometimes can lead to weird flavors. The moral of the story is that I need to be more adventurous and try new things because these bars are my new ADDICTION. I cannot get enough! I was so surprised how light the bars were and how tasty they were. Instead of being a bar that is a ‘meal replacement’ option, they are a great addition to my morning coffee, or post workout on-the-go snack. They’re great with my lunch and I don’t feel like they are such rich flavors like chocolate mocha swirl. My favorite flavor was the pineapple macadamia, but all of them are really unique flavors, which I love. Another one I love is the Almond Honey Protein bar after a long run when I’m STARVING and it’s not exactly full meal time. A few of them also have the chia seeds in the bar too, which added quite a good crunch as well, which much to my dismay means that B likes them and they start disappearing rather quickly.
