Purina Dog Chow Active Life Giveaway!

I was really excited to be contacted by Purina Dog Chow Active Life about doing a giveaway on my blog and to share the news with everyone about a great sweepstakes Purina is having for other active dog-lovers that might possibly want to enter. :)

Many of you know, B and I adopted George a little over a year and a half ago, and I cannot tell you how much joy he’s brought to our life, and the best part? He was born to run. Homie is like half whippet. He has to be! Those skinny hindquarters just don’t come naturally. Though we don’t know what he is, and our vet has just said he’s a pitbull mix, which I highly doubt, since he’s all of 20 pounds and much much smaller than a pitbull, we love him no matter what he is. He is a snuggly, loving, caring and protecting little guy. If you are looking for a pet, Adopt don’t Shop! Please! help keep the pet population down and save a life.

So back to this little guy and running. He is obsessed! He loves to run around the house, the backyard, and especially go for runs with me! He likes to walk too, but running is his thing. So when I was contacted by Purina about the Purina Running Strong giveaway it was pretty darn exciting!

Make sure to enter the Running Strong Giveaway here! As part of the Purina Running Strong Sweepstakes, 10 Grand Prize winners will receive a “Running Strong” prize pack, consisting of cold weather apparel, running accessories, plus $100 worth of Purina Dog Chow Active Life*, sold exclusively at Wal-Mart. I have 2 Westies and a Cairn! Mac is so funny, he can go a few miles but when he’s done – he’s done. He just sits there and looks up like “pick me up, let’s go” haha!

My dog’s a mix: “half alien and half adorable.” General consensus is that she’s a lab/beagle mix. The longest run I’ve taken her on is 6km (about 4 miles), and involved a lot of pee breaks (for her, not me!).

Max is half lab/half border collie. Or so we claim! Who knows really. He loves to run and jump. The most we ever run is 5-6 miles. I just know he’d be BFF with George.

I have a Shiba Inu and a German Shepherd. The longest I have ever run with either of them is 3 miles, but I’m sure they could keep going.

I have three adopted dogs, one doesn’t run at all, one only goes about a mile (he’s older) and I have one that I easily run 7-8 miles with and she can certainly go further! I also coordinate Miles and Mutts, a local program, to run with shelter dogs and we run with them anywhere from 3-8 miles usually!

Adoption is the best!!! We adopted Nala and she is a Saint Beenard! She runs for a little bit, then jogs, then walks then needs a wagon ride home!! All 120 lbs of her!!!

I have a border collie….at least she looks like one…she’s a rescue. She will run as long as I let her. As a matter of fact, we did about 8 miles a few weeks ago and her poor paws were sore afterwards, but she still wasn’t tired!

I have a Pomeranian, a Chihuahua, and 3 mixed breeds. I too believe in adopting pets and just cannot spend money on a dog knowing that so many are in shelters or on the streets. All of mine can go for about a mile and that is usually all they want to do!

I too have a Border Collie who loves to run so much that I’ve given up running with her…..we now inline skate together.

My puppy Buster is a 7 month old Black & Tan Coonhound/Lab mix who LOVES to run. He is up to 5 miles with me. My old dog WyattEarp used to do 12 mile runs with me and keep me company during marathon training! Rescues are the best!

My boyfriend and I have a shelter mutt (supposedly lab/border collie, but we don’t really know) who LOVES to run. She’s only 38 pounds but still manages to pull me up hills. The farthest she’s gone with us is about 8 miles, but I’m sure she could go much farther.

Ahhh I love this giveaway opportunity! How cute! Thanks, Purina! Cabo is our 1.5 yr old black lab, that we got at the Boulder Humane Society :) We love her with all our hearts and she runs with us once or twice a week, for about 30-45 mins each time.

We have a rescue Half golden lab/retriever. She runs 8 plus miles with us….though it takes a few miles for her to get into a groove and not pull. She wants to sprint! :-)

I have a Blackmouth Cur, she is a squirrel/raccoon hunting dog. We go on hunts where I walk a good five miles, and she’s running most of the times nearly twice as much as I walk. She is a great dog, full of energy and a desire to hunt!

A Jack Russel! He can run for two or so miles but it’s a sprint workout — very stop and smell! :)

I adopted Brodie, so I’m not sure 100% of his breed, but the vet says he’s a boxer bulldog mix. He is a better sprinter than a long distance runner, but will come with my happily for runs up to 3 miles. He’s a great little running companion. :)
