I have been so busy with work and life that I completely forgot this weekend was the Disney 5K and I had an entry for the race! It was a fun run, which thankfully it was because I was in no shape to run hard, and I did want to enjoy the race and take more photos than the first Disney race I ran back in September!
All Disney races start super early because they have to open the park, but it’s worth it! I tried to take a lot of pictures this time and capture all the little fun things we ran/walked by, including standing in line for 15 minutes to take a photo at the end with Mickey and Minnie! I lovvvved this pumpkin :) One of my favorite characters from Monsters Inc!
It was a great race, though there were a lot of walkers. It was fine though because I wasn’t ready to run fast or anything. I did arrive a tad late, so I got put in the last corral too, which meant the lines were pretty long for the character photos.
We ran throughout the park and then backstage a bit as well, which was really fun! I enjoyed the entire race and it was over before I even knew it! It goes by so quickly when there are so many fun things to distract you. Even though the race was untimed, I actually enjoyed it more, because I wasn’t worried about passing around the walkers or taking photos, which is great when there are so many things to see :)
At the finish, you travel through Cars land and the California Adventure, which is really beautiful. Everyone is so nice at Disneyland, and it’s fun to see everyone out cheering for you, even if it is really early in the morning. :)
Overall, a really fun race and now I’m contemplating if I want to run the one in September, but the half… I should be trained by then so we’ll see!
