This weekend we went to San Diego for B’s cousin’s wedding! It was so much fun and such a pretty wedding. The weather was a tad cool, which was a little bit of a bummer, but thankfully it was indoors after the ceremony and we were fine.
I was sitting down, so excuse the weird red marks on my legs. Random. Also, his cousin married a Navy Seal, so everyone who was a part of public service was requested to wear their uniform. Though B was a little worried how it would be wearing his uniform, it was fine. I never have even seen him in his dress uniform, so it was kind of fun and different!
We were color coordinated and didn’t even plan it! It was a fun weekend.
We came home Saturday night and I spent the rest of the weekend cleaning and re-organizing things around the house. George got lots of walks and I’m going to work hard to make this next month a running streak month. I have been getting up every morning and running 2-3 miles with George, but I wanted to try to get my speed back up, to run the La Palma 5K or 10K on the fourth, and since it’s ALREADY June, I better get crackin’! It’s been so nice in the mornings and George loves running in the mornings and it makes him much more sleepy the entire day. I have a little tracker on our white board that says Running Streak! So we’ll see how long I can keep it up. I think I’m going to work off this plan.
I have been enjoying running lately and know that this plan will be easy short runs that won’t take too much time to complete, and I can take George on all of them with me if I want to. I don’t know how fast I want to run the 5 or 10k, but I am thinking under 9 minute miles. We shall see. I like running short and fast and I know easing back into it with a shorter race will be good for my hip and will hopefully not cause my hip to flare up. It’s something to shoot for at this point. We’ll see how it goes, but I am loving running early in the morning when it’s nice and sunny out and warm. I am still eating pretty healthy so I am going to continue to work hard at that this month as well.
It’s always fun to have new fun goals and see how you do with them. So yesterday George and I ran 3 miles, and this morning I did our loop for 2.5 and it was awesome. I have still been foam rolling a lot to help with the hip, so hopefully I will be getting a bit faster for the La Palma Race!
