April is here already?

So where does the time go? I don’t get it. This year is seriously flying by and it’s already April. Alas, this year has been filled with fun things thus far!

This weekend on Saturday I worked out at the gym in the morning and rode my bike 12 miles. I haven’t ridden that far yet and it was a bit dauting but I did enjoy it. With the help of a friend at work I mapped out a route for me to take to work on my bike. I’m a little scared to ride my bike to work, but would love the extra workout it would give me. I hope by the end of this week I get enough courage to take the route! :/ Sunday morning I went for a short run and my calf was a little tight, but it was easy and I got done quick.

Saturday night, I got the opportunity to go to the Special Olympics “A World Of Difference” Fundraiser Dinner. This is one of my favorite events that we go to for work and it truly is a very amazing cause and I love going. This year was my 2nd year going.

What a special evening to celebrate these athletes and Special Olympics! They even had this amazing Beach Cruiser with the athletes creed on it up for auction.

Such a fun event that I really look forward to every year.

Sunday afternoon was spent doing nothing crazy, just cleaning and some baking. I will have to post my baking extravaganza sometime this week.

As for races… here’s my schedule for the next few months, so far.

Salt Lake City Half Marathon – 4/21

Color Run 5K – 4/22

CSULB Reverse Tri – 4/29

And I’m contemplating the Laguna Hills 1/2 on May 28th and of course must do the La Palma Days 4th of July race on the 4th! We’ll see how it pans out in the upcoming months. See how I signed up for that tri and snuck that in there? :)

I considered doing the SLT half or full! Boo. We could have ran together. We’ll get one planned sooner or later!

Ha, tri’s are sneaky that way.

Ohhh, a TRI! So, that’s why the 12 mile bike ride! Do you have a road bike?

My husband use to volunteer for the Special Olympics and he loved it so much! You race schedule looks great! What is a reverse Tri?

That’s exciting that you signed up for a tri, and that you’re coming to SLC! Let me know if you need anything. I live 2 miles from the finish of the SLC Marathon! I have a 5k I’m doing to support a friend that day or I’d be tempted to sign up for it too. I’ll be interested to see how it goes.

That’s great that you’re going to ride your bike to work! Once you do it it won’t be quite as scary. Even though I’ve ridden my bike a ton, I still get nervous every time I ride until I get out there, then I realize it’s not that bad and always enjoy it! Good luck!
