A Sony Walkman Review and Giveaway

Just in time for Christmas! I reviewed the Sony W walkman a while back and loved it. It has a lot of great features, holds a lot of music but there were just a few small things that it needed to be worked out. Recently, contacted by those who make the Sony W again to try out the new Meb Keflezighi version, I agreed and before I knew it, I was running with the updated version, which is awesome! It basically has all the small updates that I was looking for.

I really liked the original music player but this one added an on/off switch and a few

If you read my previous review, it took me quite some time to figure out how to turn off the music player… Now with an easy on and off switch, it’s dummy proof. That little OPR light next to it blinks red when it needs to be charged and shows it’s charging when it’s plugged in.

They have also added a button for playlists as well. Wow these look really dirty in this picture but they are not! I changed out the little ear pieces to the smaller size and once I did that they fit and stayed put in my ears.

I really like how loud the music gets and it works out great with no cords. I also like how it’s water resistant, so I can take it with me in the rain and sweat all over it and it stays on and works well. I think the upgrade to the size of the ear pieces and shape of the ear pieces are much better looking. The other ear pieces just looked older and outdated.

Just like before, it’s super easy to plug into your computer, both windows and mac OS and you just drag music to the folder on the device and you are set to go. I still don’t use the Zappin Feature because I like to hear the whole song instead of just a small portion of it, but one of my most favorite features of the Special Meb Keflezighi edition is the fact that there are little sayings and tips that he says to you throughout the workout. They don’t relate specifically to your workout, but are more tips about training in general and how to get the most out of each workout. It’s always fun to hear the music amp up and his voice while you are in the middle of a run or at the gym.

Honestly, the ease of using this thing is what makes me choose it over any other music player. I do like the ipod, but the cords get annoying and I’ve even gotten chaffed from my iPod arm case. This is easy, light weight and it’s all you need, not headphones, the case, the ipod. I love that I can just throw it in my gym bag and leave and not worry about all the other stuff. I also really like that I can plug in, upload music and be done with it. It’s all one in one compact place and I don’t have to worry about it slipping out of my ears or headphones flopping around. Done!

So, Sony was kind enough to send me TWO W Walkman, one for myself to test out, and one for one lucky reader!

Ridiculous? Yup!
