Thanksgiving and the not 10 miler

Wow. What a weekend. Time flies when you are working over a holiday weekend, and that it did. Thankfully it DIDN’T rain at the Turkey Trot and everything went well. It was pretty chilly but it was a good event and the SAME lady yelled at me for the SAME thing and basically used the SAME words this year as last year. It was a weird moment and I totally laughed. Whoopsie. Oh well.

I was SO sore this weekend from the event. Standing around, being on your feet for so long and rolling miles of snow fencing makes you SORE. I also was talking to a co-worker and she was saying she thinks that we get so dehydrated, which makes sense and doesn’t help with the soreness. Alas, the 10 miler that was on deck for this weekend got cut short when I thought I wouldn’t be able to run any farther. Disappointing, but oh well, it’s the way it goes. I still got in miles and that is what matters. This weekend and next weekend we have events, and then it’s break time for events, which will help my training a lot. I knew this would be the most difficult time for me training wise, so I can’t beat myself up over it.

I started off doing well and the first four miles were okay. Not anything special but around mile 5 the wheels just came off. I was so sore and my shins were aching. I have know for about 4 months that I need to get new shoes. I know, terrible for waiting that long. I could just feel my feet hurting so much and I knew that I wouldn’t be able to get in the 10 miles that I originally had planned for. I finished off another 4 miles

Some pictures from this weekend :)

Check out that awesome turkey creepin in the corner! He ran the whole race dressed like that, and it was awesome! I signed him up that morning and he made my day.

Alas, the rest of the weekend was pretty much low key, some cleaning, lots of DIY which I’ll post soon and finishing up some projects around the house and we got our washer drier! Which was truly exciting. You know your an adult when these things excite you.

Anyways, tonight I’m going for another dark run which I will bring G along with me to protect me and wear him out. And, after waiting much to long, I’m getting new KSwiss shoes today with their great deal, buy one get one free AND free shipping. That’s basically UNBEATABLE and I already love their shoes!

Use the code KSBOGOF11 for the deal. Keahou II here I come and longer runs are in my future.

xoxo

Great seeing you at the Expo! I told my son that you would be working there all night. He looked at me and said, “You’re f’ing kidding. All night?!” Hahaha! Yeah, kid. It’s called a job. Great race this year – the medals were a cool touch… and they look good, too!
