So as I said yesterday, I was a little tired in the morning and didn’t get up as planned to do my 4 miler tempo run. All day I ate super crappy and thought about my tempo run and how much it was going to be horrible and I would probably throw up chocolate. Alas, I got home, changed and took off immediately. I felt pretty good and just told myself to focus on the four miles and then I would be golden for the evening and wouldn’t have to worry about running again until my 14 miler on Thursday!
My first mile was clocked at 8:06. Whoooooaaaa there slow down! I didn’t slow down though, I sped up! I need to get back into running tempos! The second mile was 7:40. EEEEEK SLOW DOWN! I finally got more in the groove and the third mile was 8:18 which was closer to my 8:30 goal pace. Then my last mile was at 8:41, which was the closest to where I wanted to be. I finished with a nice cool down of a half mile at 8:30 pace. That’s what pace I wanted to run! Darn it. I will work on looking at my Garmin more next time and trying to be more consistent. The good thing was that throughout the run I felt strong and the paces weren’t too hard. Looking back after the second mile I was tired, but that’s because it was way too fast! Alas, I have another good tempo run over the weekend, hopefully on Sunday after I get back from Arizona for work.
So this week I have completed all my workouts thus far.
Gym on Monday, Tempo on Tuesday, Gym on Wednesday and my long run of 14 miles is tomorrow morning before I leave for Arizona. I am feeling REALLY good right now and thankful that I have started training in the right mindset.
I totally forgot to post a few pictures from over the Christmas Break! I went to a Kings Hockey Game with some friends the other night, and we were on the Jumbotron. It was actually a really fun game!
And, I also went to the Comedy Store in LA with Shea and our other friend, Stefana! She is actually going to be joining Shea and I in our house as our 3rd roommate! I can’t believe that I’ve been living with Shea for 2 years tomorrow and Stefana is moving in tomorrow! Crazy!
So running and gyming is going well. Jams are good, and I got up this morning and did really well in the gym, again. I love feeling strong and not exhausted. Last night I went to the movies and watched Hood to Coast as well, and it was really a great movie! I am really glad I got the opportunity to see it and thought it was well documented. Though, when I saw scaffolding and portapotties, I did shudder. My job has scarred me!
xoxo

Can i ask what your company name is? I’d love to meet you at the Expo this weekend!
I wanted to see Hood to Coast so badly. Unfortunately the next movie theater that had showings was over an hour away. On a week day night? Not happening for me unfortunately. I can’t wait for the movie to come out on DVD though.
I was really hoping to catch Hood to Coast as well, but squeezing in a run and a movie on a weeknight was just out of the question. I’m running PF Chang’s this weekend, so hopefully we’ll see you at the expo!!
I saw hood to coast too! i would loveeee to run a relay with you sis! it would be AMAZING! miss you!
Nice job on having to slow down during training runs, that is a great problem to have! I didn’t have a chance to check out the Hood to Coast movie, but I’m definitely going to rent it on netflix!
I like that, in your first picture, there are 2 random people smiling for your picture in the background. Hee! (and sorry, posted this in the wrong place the first time.)
nice job on the tempo speedster!
ps…I love you white sweater!
