What’s Next

After you finish any race, you kind of go through this awkward stage where you wonder what you’ll do next. I had the Malibu Marathon in my sites before I even started Camarillo. I’m a ‘legacy runner’ there, which means any race that you run the first year of, you are a ‘legacy runner’. So even when I was at mile 20 of Camarillo, I thought for sure I would want to kill myself and not run another full, but I’m actually going to try to run the Malibu Marathon again this year! I am really excited about it too. Which is weird, but I’m all about it!

Work has literally been insane this week and next week I know will be so tiring and rewarding at the same time. I’m so excited and nervous at the same time.

This week for workouts I’ve taken it pretty easy. I went for a light mile jog on the treadmill on Monday and felt awesome and have no lingering soreness at all. I hope to hit up the gym this weekend and will be back running next week. I am planning on keeping a base around 6-8 miles and will possibly get in one 16-20 miler before Malibu. I think in the back of my mind I used Camarillo as a training run for Malibu.

As for all the nice comments about Camarillo and what went on there, thank you! I’m glad I made it through it. Here’s some pictures of the beautiful Farmland!

What a great race!

Good luck with Malibu; I ran the half last year and I really liked the course–especially finishing on a downhill.
