So I had recently have received some new compression socks from the company, InVigorators. Now, we all know I love my Zensah stuff especially their cushiony soft compression socks, but I love trying new things and sharing if they do or don’t work with you guys.
I tried the new socks after my 20 miler this past weekend and really liked the fact that they are very sleek looking as they are all black. I could wear them to work or under jeans with shoes and it doesn’t look like I’m wearing some weird huge socks. They also are thinner than the Zensah socks so they fit better into shoes if I so desired to wear them with shoes. I did like how tight they were actually. Comparing them to Zensah is like comparing apples to bananas. They are a completely different material and really are tight, which I feel like helps a lot. They are breathable which is also very nice. Since they don’t have a cushion on the bottom of the sock, they are much more wearable in normal day settings I feel like. Also, I do have a problem with finding socks that aren’t huge on my weirdly little baby feet. These ones fit like a glove, and still went all the way up my calf and provided a lot of compression throughout my leg.
Usually, any sized socks that aren’t very small, the heel doesn’t fit properly. These ones fit perfectly. There was some room in the toes and I could easily move my foot and toes for some wiggle room. I really liked how the compression throughout the sock was consistent.
As you can tell they go all the way up to my knee. It’s nice because they are not overly tight but seem to give just the right amount of compression throughout the whole sock. No area is looser than the other sections.
Both of them on my feet, and yes, I know I have weird small feet, especially for how tall I am. If you want to purchase a pair, you can find them on my aStore, or online. They are a little pricey though. :(
You might ask why compression? Well I’m no doctor, nor do I really know what I’m talking about most of the time, but compression feels excellent and really aides in recovery and getting the blood flowing back into your legs. Compression works to improver circulation and help get new much needed blood into your legs after a long run. I also really like wearing my socks to bed after a long run. I have also really felt that wearing compression socks helps alleviate sore and tired legs after a long run. You would be surprised how much support the socks give. Another bonus is that compression reduces swelling, which you can feel when you put the socks on your feet. It feels so good when you put them on, because your legs feel like they are being compressed and the new blood starts to tingle in. That’s totally non medically backed, but it is my personal opinion.
This morning I got in a 7 miler without Claude and it was slow, but it got done. I am seriously so slow in the mornings it’s ridiculous. Oh well. The miles are getting put in and that’s all that matters.
Also, I was contacted about a post I wrote a while back, where I ran at Angel’s Stadium. There is another race like this and it’s quickly approaching. Though they are a team that I loathe, I just had to tell you guys about it so that you could take advantage if you are in the area. It’s a 5k race at Yankee Stadium! It’s raising awareness for cancer research and if you were interested, check out their website, it looks like it will be a great event!
If you have yet to enter the Zensah giveaway, I’m picking a winner tomorrow, and let me tell you, there are a TON of entries with all the cool ways I gave you guys to enter, you’ve done it all and I had to spend last night cutting up strips of paper with everyone’s name on it and there are a lot of little papers. You have until tonight at midnight to enter! I will announce the winner tomorrow. Lastly, if you don’t already follow Dick’s Sporting Goods on Twitter, do it now! They are just about finished with their $100 a day giveaway for the past 50 days, and it’s pretty fun to write them back daily with what you would buy with the $100. I have yet to win, but good luck to everyone!
