So I’m back on the Kelly’s Korner Home Tour and I can post today because it’s Master Bedroom day! If you missed it, you can visit my kitchen, living room and dining room here, my roommate’s room here, and the bathroom here. Well since my roommate and I live in a smaller house like apartment that was built in the 1920′s we don’t have that different of bedrooms, but since I get to choose what I’m posting, I made my bedroom the master bedroom. So I’m pretty bad at decorating. When I say pretty bad, I mean real bad. I just don’t have that creative eye, nor can I really put two and two together. Mostly, Mr. R has helped me with my room, and my roommate’s creativeness has encouraged me. So obviously, my room is very ‘black’. So here we go, I’ll give you a description under the pictures.
So this is the corner of the room. You can see my one closet door, and that I have a zebra rug and that is part of my bed. That little chest will be discussed in a more close up picture, but I have some pictures on top of it. That is my dresser that holds my TV.
This is the opposite corner. That is my dresser and desk, which I painted both of them white. That was an ordeal in itself. I have my iMac, and my TV sitting on my dresser. You can see that the ceilings and walls just kind of come together if you look closely.
Then we have my entrance door and my bookshelf. On the back of my door I have a bulletin board with tons of pictures from college and also all my race numbers are pinned to the bottom. Next to that we have my black bookshelf. I have a few books on the bottom shelf and the rest is candles, random pictures and stuff like that. Yup, I have the goggles hanging on the hook on the side, from when I did the ‘swim across the bay’ on the one run with my friend Sam.
This is a picture above my desk. This picture means a lot to me because this is a bench on the beach where Mr. R and I used to go all the time. He took this picture, made it black and white and framed it for me for our first Christmas. I am pretty sure I cried when I saw it. It’s an AMAZING picture too and it always reminds me to just relax and that things will be okay. We still visit this spot a lot too. We had our first ‘date’ at a restaurant on that pier as well.
Now, in my room I have two closets. This is closet number 1. 2 rows of clothes and all those shoes. Yup. I have a problem. Top row is long sleeves and jackets, bottom row is tank tops.
This is my glorious bed. I LOVE my bed. It’s a queen tempurpedic bed. That stuffed animal on it is, “Snuffle”, and it’s a pink polar bear, not a pig! My mom got it for me when I was little from FAO Schwartz in New York. I have a few others ones in different colors that she got for me as well. I think they are so cute. I also have a pink flamingo quilt that my mom made me at the foot of my bed. That chandelier is actually a ‘wall decal’ and I really am glad I got it, I thought it added something to my room without being cheesy and it was inexpensive. I got the two feather pictures from Target and the big black frame from Ikea. That was my attempt to add color.
This is closet number 2. You can see my doggie lunch bag. ha ha, and also this closet has a built in dresser and a window. Kind of strange huh.
This is the other side of the closet. All my dresses and pants hang in this closet.
So here is a close up of the small chest. This was actually something that I used to put random stuff in, but once my mom died, I started putting stuff in here that I wanted to keep of hers, and that are very special to me. To some they would probably seem a little random, but I really like the chest and I’m glad that I have a safe place to keep certain things that remind me of her or that she gave to me.
So here is a a picture of my whole room pretty much. I really like my room and though it’s not huge it works for me.
This is my makeshift nightstand. Kind of random, but it works.I got two cabniets from the Itso Collection at Target and stacked them together. I also have the charging station since there are TWO outlets in my entire room and both are in the closet. Thanks 1920s for that.
Well that pretty much is our entire house… BUT if something else pops up that I forgot to show you guys, I’ll for sure hop back on the train! :)
Now this weekend I have a wonderful 8 miler planned for tomorrow. Looks like it won’t be too warm so I’m really looking forward to it. I also downloaded some new jams to run to as well. If you haven’t checked out the new Black Eyed Peas CD I would totally recommend it. I can’t believe that the San Fransisco 1/2 is only a month away. Time to get my butt into high gear. Next week I start the training plan where I am running hills and more track workouts and I’m actually really looking forward to it. I am pretty stoked to train and work towards another goal. Running a half is my favorite distance, I’m so glad I don’t have to run 26.2 miles in a month! :)

As far as feed issues go, they are still being worked on. Make sure you delete the old feed and possibly give it a few days before trying to add the new feed. Oh the joys of wordpress. :)

Great tour of your little room. It’s about as big as our master bedroom.
I forgot to post where I hide my race numbers. When I get all organized one day, I will post a picture. I have a special place for my race numbers..

I’m so glad you’re getting back into the running groove. I’m so thankful that you posted (a couple days ago) about how you had a slightly hard time getting back into it. I’ve been feeling like there is something wrong with me A) because I’ve been having the hardest short runs and B) because I’m not sure if I want to run another marathon. I think I expected myself to want to just keep running them after my first and I feel guilty because I’m not sure if I want to or not. Anyway, it made me feel better to know that you’ve had the same type feelings. Thanks for keepin’ it real:)

Just wanted to pop in and say that I LOVE your new blog look. I have been following your blog since round about the time you did the photo shoot (those pics were awesome by the way!) and I love reading your blog. I also love running and wish we had some of those “Sweet deals” here where I live (I am Irish but live in Spain, running gear here is pretty expensive, especially the brand stuff). Anyway, all that to say, LOVE your new blog look! :)

I have the same pink polar bear! My mom may have given it away at some point, but I remember playing with it when I was a little kid :) But I always have a stuffed animal on my bed to this day :)
